I have never learned how to read a map well. So, if you dropped me off in the middle of the forest and asked me to find my way out, I’d be in a bit of trouble. Walking through the maze of options for the 2020-2021 school year seems to have quite a few parallels.
But in a moment of crossroads or crisis, there is always an opportunity for God to do His good work! And we want to help you find ways to make this school year one to cherish, not to dread.
This week, we are launching a blog series to help you navigate all of the Covid-19 school year options. You’ll see what your best options are as a working-parent household or as a stay-at-home parent household. We’ll tell you how to make the best of virtual schooling and how to be engaged with hybrid schooling. And, if you’re ready to jump all in to homeschooling, we have some great resources for beginning that journey, too!
But what makes us qualified to speak on this issue? Both Aracelly Garces and I, founders of the curriculum enrichment brand Learning with Friends, have years of certified experience in the public school setting, the private school setting, and, now, as working homeschooling mothers. We’ve run the gamut of educational experiences ourselves.
But we don’t know it all! So we’ve also enlisted education experts to share their ideas on how to navigate the maze of information and options.
During our series, watch for these posts:
- How can a working parent homeschool?
- How to make the most out of virtual schooling
- Navigating the hybrid schooling model
- Not all classrooms have four walls
- So you want to homeschool: Where to start
- Homeschooling according to your family lifestyle (or style of learning)
- 3 things every parent should do to engage in their child’s education
- Weed through the advice: Here are the top voices in education to listen to
But we won’t leave you hanging today. Here’s what we want to remind you: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him,” James 1:5.
We will be praying with you and for you, and we want to hear from you. Share your specific requests and questions with us at hello@learningwithfriends.com.
